Working with Job Attachments in Asset Workflow

Job attachments in Asset Workflow are files added to a job and made available across all workflow stages. These files provide important context for content requests, including guidelines, reference materials, and briefs. Attachments are separate from assets submitted for review or approval.
Any file type supported by Bynder can be added as an attachment. The number of attachments is not limited, but the best practice is to keep it to 100 or fewer.

Who?

Permissions required to add attachments

To add attachments to a job, a user must have the Manage Stages permission enabled in their permission profile.

Note: Two users can be the same user level (Light, Regular, or Heavy) but belong to different permission profiles. If one user can add attachments and another cannot, this is the first thing to check.

To verify or update this permission, go to Settings > Users & rights > Permission Management, select the relevant profile, and confirm that Manage Stages is enabled.

Secondary access path

A user can also add or view attachments if they have been tagged in a comment or annotation within the job. This works independently of the Manage Stages permission.

Permissions required to download attachments

Users who have either of the following permissions can download attachments:

Why?

Job attachments give all stakeholders quick access to supporting materials throughout the entire workflow. This keeps context available at every stage without requiring files to be shared outside of Bynder. Common use cases include:

  • Attaching a creative brief at the start of a job
  • Including brand guidelines or reference assets for reviewers
  • Adding pre-set attachments to a preset so they are automatically included in every job created from it
