Enable Batch Uploads in Workspace for a user

Summary

Batch Uploads in Workspace lets users upload, stage, enrich, and publish multiple assets at once from Workspace. Access to the feature is controlled through permission profiles in Bynder. Users cannot see Workspace or Batch Uploads in Workspace until administrators grant them the right permissions. This article walks you through the permission profile changes needed to enable Batch Uploads for a user.

Who?

Administrators manage access to this feature through permission profiles. Users cannot see or use Workspace or Batch Uploads in Workspace until you grant the right permissions on their profile.

Why?

Batch Uploads in Workspace allows users to process multiple files simultaneously. The permission you assign determines how that user moves files through the workflow:

• Assigning Upload assets makes them a publisher who can publish directly to the asset bank.

• Assigning Upload assets with mandatory approval makes them a requester whose files route to the Waiting Room for approval.

How?

1. Navigate to Permission Management.
2. Once Batch Uploads in Workspace is enabled for your portal, locate the new section called Workspace.
3. Enable Access Workspace for the relevant permission profile.
4. Ensure the user also has either Upload assets or Upload assets with mandatory approval permission, depending on the role you want them to have in the batch upload workflow.

FAQ 

Will Workspace Batch Uploads replace the Main and Mass Uploader?

No, Workspace Batch Uploads will launch alongside these existing upload solutions. However, once Workspace Batch Uploads has added more features to reach feature parity with core features from the Main and Mass Uploader, it will replace them. There will be a deprecation announcement and period to switch.
