Add Files to a Batch

Summary

Add files lets you bring more files into a batch upload after you've already started one. You might use it to extend a batch with files that weren't ready when you started, or to resume an interrupted upload. Each batch has a file limit, and the three-dot menu shows you how much room is left so you can plan your additions.

Note

This feature is currently in Beta. For access, please contact your Bynder representative.

Who?

Batch Uploads in Workspace are available to Publishers with Access Workspace and Upload assets permissions, and Requesters with Access Workspace and Upload assets with mandatory approval permissions.

How?

Add files to an existing batch

You don't always have every file ready when you start a batch. Add files lets you bring more in later, whether you're extending the batch with new content or recovering files from an interrupted upload.

  1. Open the batch upload.
  2. In the top right of the batch, click the three-dot menu.
  3. Click Add files.
  4. Select the files you want to add from your computer.
  5. Click Open.

The new files are added to the batch and uploaded alongside any files already in progress.

Check how much room is left in a batch

Each batch has a file limit, so it helps to know the current count before adding more files. The three-dot menu shows the count next to Add files so you can see how much room is left at a glance.

  1. Open the batch upload.
  2. In the top right of the batch, click the three-dot menu.
  3. Look at the count next to Add files. The first number is the current file count in the batch, and the second is your limit.

Two limits apply, based on your permission:

  • Publishers can upload up to 1,000 files per batch.
  • Requesters can upload up to 250 files per batch.

The same limits apply when you start a new batch from the Uploads page. For more on these roles, see Enable Batch Uploads in Workspace for a user.

Add files when you exceed the size limit

If your selection would push the batch past its file limit, Bynder doesn't cancel the upload. A modal lets you continue with the files that fit and skip the rest.

  1. In the three-dot menu, click Add files.
  2. Select more files than fit in the batch, then click Open. The Maximum capacity reached modal opens.
  3. Click Continue with X files to add the files that fit, or click Cancel to go back and adjust your selection.

Files are kept in the order they appear in your selection until the limit is reached. Files past that point are skipped.

For more on resuming an interrupted upload, see Resume an interrupted upload.
