Display Metaproperties in Asset Bank List & Grid Views

Summary

Users can update their Asset Bank layout to toggle between grid and list views. Portal administrators can choose to display specific metaproperties—which are often configured as Smartfilters—directly within either or both of these layouts. This setup allows users to quickly review crucial asset metadata without needing to click on the asset to open its detail view.

Who?

  • Required Permissions: Users must have the specific Manage metaproperties permission enabled.

  • Target Audience: Portal Administrators, Taxonomy Managers, and Asset Librarians.

Why?

  • Efficiency: Minimizes clicks by displaying important contextual information directly on the search and overview screens.

  • Improved Discoverability: Allows users to scan and distinguish between similar looking assets at a glance using tailored metadata tags.

  • Enhanced User Experience: Provides control over the visual presentation of data, allowing users to choose between a visual grid and a data-dense list layout.

How?

Add Metaproperties to List & Grid Views

  1. Navigate to Settings > Advanced Settings > Portal Settings and click Asset Bank Views in the left sidebar. asset_bank_views_.png

    • Alternative Path: Select a metaproperty within the Metaproperties and options section of Metaproperties management, then click the icon/option next to Asset bank views. asset_bank_views_new_meta.png

  2. Select Grid view or List view from the settings window. A preview of the selected view will display in the center interface.asset_bank_views_new_metaproperty_.png

  3. Click Select metaproperties (or x metaproperties selected if some are already active).

  4. Check the box next to each metaproperty you want to display in the selected layout view.

    • Technical Constraint / Recommendation: It is highly recommended to select no more than 3 metaproperties for the grid view, and up to 10 metaproperties for the list view to ensure optimal readability.

Delete Metaproperties from List & Grid Views

  1. Navigate to Settings > Advanced Settings > Portal Settings and click Asset Bank Views in the left sidebar.

    • Alternative Path: Select a metaproperty within the Metaproperties and options section of Metaproperties management, then click the option next to Asset bank views.

  2. Select Grid view or List view to load its preview.

  3. Click Select metaproperties (or x metaproperties selected).NEW_TAXONOMY_-_select_metaproperties____.png

  4. Click the active metaproperty you want to remove from the view.

  5. Confirm it has been removed; the selection indicator next to the metaproperty name will disappear.
