Box is a cloud storage solution and is used to manage, share, and collaborate on digital files. Box can store most file types and enables access for individuals anywhere across multiple platforms
By integrating your Bynder portal and Box account, you are able to seamlessly connect assets between the two by automatically moving assets in your Box account to Bynder, without downloading from Box and re-uploading to Bynder. Non-Bynder users will now be able add assets to a folder in Box to have them automatically uploaded to your DAM.
How to enable this connector/ integration in your portal?
Reach out to your Customer Success Contact to learn more about enabling this integration and any associated costs.
Who can set up this integration?
Once enabled, users with the following permission can enable and configure this integration:
How to Set up the Integration
-
Log in to Bynder and navigate to Settings > Advanced settings> Portal settings.
-
Click Browse Integrations in the left sidebar then click Configure in the Box section.
-
Enter a Name for this configuration.
-
If you've already configured a Bynder connection, it will be selected. If not, select New authentication to add your Bynder credentials:
-
Your authentication name: Enter a name for the authentication.
-
Domain: Enter your unique domain by copying the URL of your Bynder portal (including https://).
-
-
Click Create, then Next.
-
Select New authentication and then Create to log into your box account.
- Click Grant access to Box to confirm you agree to grant Tray.IO access to complete the Box integration.
- Tray.io is an API integration platform that provides the connection between Box and Bynder.
-
Box Folder URL: Navigate to your Box account and copy the URL of the folder that you would like to sync with Bynder. Navigate back to Bynder and paste into the Box Folder URL section.
-
Include subfolders?: If you’d like for all assets uploaded to the selected folder’s subfolders to upload to Bynder, check the box. Be aware that large folder structures will slow the total time to synchronize assets from Box. If your folder structure is very large, consider creating multiple Box connections.
-
If you leave the box unchecked, then only assets uploaded to the selected folder will be synced to Bynder.
-
-
Metadata Mapping: You can automatically add certain metaproperty values to all assets that are synced from Box. For example, you can set a Source metaproperty to be Box for all assets uploaded via the integration.
-
Click Choose an option under Bynder Metaproperty and select a field from the dropdown.
In the Value section, enter the option that the synced assets should be tagged with. -
Click Add a new mapping to add additional metaproperties.
-
-
Click Next to review the information, then click Finish.
Note
If you would like to connect more than one Box folder, you will need to configure a new Box workflow for each account you would like to set up.
After configuration, all selected assets in your Box account will upload to your portal’s Asset Bank after about 2 hours. Moving forward, any assets added or moved to the selected folder (or subfolders) in the configured Box account will automatically be uploaded to the DAM after about 2 hours.
If you delete an asset from your Box account, it will not automatically be reuploaded to your Bynder DAM. If you delete a Box asset from your Bynder DAM it will remain in your Box account.
- Navigate to Settings > Advanced settings > Portal settings.
- Click Active Integrations in the left sidebar, then Edit in the section of the connection that you would like to update.
- Make your changes, then click Save.
Which file types are supported?
Any supported file type can be added to your portal. For a complete list of file types click here.
What happens to the asset if I delete it from my Bynder portal (or visa versa)?

Does the integration support versions?

Is a specific Box account type required for the integration?
