iStock is an online, royalty-free, international microstock photography provider offering millions of photos, illustrations, clip art, videos, and audio tracks.
The iStock integration automatically uploads assets from your iStock account (or multiple accounts) to your Bynder DAM for a centralized asset management experience.
Contact your Customer Success Manager to learn more about enabling the iStock Integration.

Navigate to Settings > Advanced settings > Portal settings.

Click Browse Integrations in the left sidebar, then Configure in the iStock section.

Enter a Name for this configuration and click Save.

If you've already configured a Bynder connection, it will be selected. If not, select New authentication to add your Bynder credentials:

Your authentication name: Enter a name for the authentication.

Domain: Enter your unique domain by copying the URL of your Bynder portal (including https://).

Click Create.

A new window will appear to confirm you agree to grant Tray.IO access to complete the iStock integration.
Note
Tray.io is an API integration platform that provides the connection between iStock and Bynder.

Click Yes.

[optional] Send To Waiting Room?: You can choose if assets should be sent to the waiting room or uploaded directly to the Asset Bank.

Check the box if you want assets from iStock to go to the waiting room for approval.

Leave the box unchecked to send all assets directly to the Asset Bank.

Click Next.
-
Select New authentication to add your iStock credentials, then click Create.
Note
If you want to connect more than one iStock account, you will need to configure a new iStock workflow for each account you want to set up.

License Model: Click the dropdown to select whether the the license model is Subscription or Credits. Learn more about the license models here.
Note
If you have assets licensed under the credit and subscription model, you must create separate connections for each type.

[optional] Include videos?: If you want iStock videos to be uploaded to your Bynder account, check the box to Include videos.

[optional] Sync after a date: You can control which assets are uploaded to Bynder based on when they were licensed.

If a date is selected, only assets licensed after that date will be uploaded.

If left blank, all licensed assets will be uploaded to the DAM.

[optional] Sync Organization Assets?: If you are part of an iStock enterprise account and your profile has permission to view organization assets, you can import all assets across your entire organization.

Select True to sync all organizational assets.

Select False to sync assets licensed by the authenticated user only.

Note
The import will fail if you do not have permission to view organization assets.

After configuration, all licensed images (and videos, if enabled) for the connected iStock account and all organization assets, if enabled, will begin to upload to your Bynder DAM or waiting room. Moving forward, any licensed asset will automatically be uploaded to Bynder roughly 2 hours after you license it.
If you delete an iStock asset from the Bynder DAM, it will not automatically be reuploaded to your Bynder DAM. If you delete an iStock asset from your iStock account or if your license expires, it will not automatically be deleted from Bynder.
You can edit the configuration if you want to disable the integration, update your iStock settings, sync (or no longer sync) videos, or edit your iStock credentials.
- Navigate to Settings > Advanced settings > Portal settings.
- Click Active Integrations in the left sidebar, then Edit in the section of the connection that you would like to update.
- Make your changes, then click Save.
The following metaproperties will automatically update with the following details:

Tags: iStock, author/photographer name, and the iStock ID.
What types of files are supported?

Images, vectors, and video (optional) are supported for the iStock integration.
What happens to the asset if I delete it from my Bynder portal (or vice versa?

If you delete an asset from your Bynder portal, the asset will remain in your iStock account, and
-
if you delete an asset from your iStock account or the license expires, it will remain in your Bynder portal.
Once I connect my iStock account to Bynder, how long will it take to see my assets in Bynder?

Once the configuration is complete, your iStock assets will begin to immediately transfer. Moving forward, the updates will run on a ~2-hour interval - so every ~2 hours, your iStock assets will be pushed to your Bynder portal.
What if we have multiple iStock accounts?

Each iStock account will need to be configured and connected. There is no limit to how many accounts you can configure.
Note
If your account has permission to see your organization’s assets, then you only need one account to sync all iStock assets.
Are iStock assets uploaded directly to my DAM or the waiting room?

You are able to configure whether licensed assets are uploaded directly to your Asset Bank or the waiting room.
