Keyword tags help you to classify and describe your assets. Whereas metaproperties can be considered high-level categories, keyword tags can be used to provide detailed information on an asset level. You can manually tag your assets or use Bynder’s automated tags, which are powered by Rekognition, a service offered by Amazon Web Services. In addition, keywords that are embedded within assets will automatically display as tags in Bynder (this cannot be disabled).

Bynder can automatically tag your images after upload. Bynder AI tagging is powered by Rekognition, a service offered by Amazon Web Services. This service can identify thousands of objects and analyze facial expressions to accurately provide your assets with the right tags. Shortly after upload, the automated tags will be available under the Automated Tags section of the asset detail screen, and the top 25 automated tags will be displayed in the smartfilter. While you can’t add new automated tags, you can delete them.
If the automated tags are not displaying in your portal, please contact your Customer Success Manager to have it enabled.
Note
-
The automated tags are not visible in the upload screen. After upload, it might take a while before the automated tags are available in the Automated Tags section of the asset detail view.
-
Automated tags are only generated for assets that are uploaded via the regular uploader within the DAM.
- You cannot batch-remove automated tags, they must be deleted from an individual asset.
