Create and Manage Tags

  • Updated

Tags help you to classify and describe your assets. Whereas metaproperties can be considered high-level categories, keyword tags can provide detailed information on an asset level. Tags are created if assets have keyword tags embedded, such as from stock providers or if your users add tags outside of Bynder. (This functionality cannot be disabled.) You can manually add, edit or delete tags during or after upload, use Bynder-generated tags, or the tags generated in Text in Image Search.

Create Tags Upon Upload

Bynder can automatically extract metadata from your assets to create tags. This service can identify thousands of objects and analyze facial expressions to provide your assets with the correct tags accurately.

Shortly after upload, the automated tags will be available under the Automated Tags section of the asset detail screen, and the top 25 automated tags will be displayed in the smart filter. While you can't add new automated tags, you can delete them.

The automated tags are not visible on the upload screen. After upload, it might take a while before the automated tags are available in the Automated Tags section of the asset detail view.

Automated tags are only generated for assets that are uploaded via the regular uploader within the DAM. Automated tags are not generated via Mass Upload or API uploads.

You cannot batch-remove automated tags; they must be deleted from an individual asset.

  2. Select Settings > Taxonomy > Tags.
  3. Enter the tag into the Add new tag box.

Note

It's unnecessary to manually create all tags, as users can add their tags to assets upon upload and editing.
