Summary

Studio has it's own permission profiles. The permission profiles decide what access to Studio users have. Each profile has unique feature access, so enabling the correct permission profile is integral to using Studio the way you need.

Who?

Once Studio is enabled these permission profiles can be set up by your Bynder Admin.

Why?

Bynder understands the need to mitigate possible template misuse, such as users ability to change branded content in Studio templates. It is imperative that our users only have access to the permissions within Studio that pertain to their specific roles. This access is granted by the Bynder Admin, please contact them if you wish to request different permissions.

Understanding Admin Permissions

Admins have permission to create categories, projects, designs, and templates. They can change all aspects of a template, change brand colors, and change the category, project, design, or template assignment. Admins can also view categories, projects, designs, and templates that are not shared or owned by them.

Note: Admins that are viewing designs and templates that are not shared with them, or where they are only Contributors cannot delete or edit categories, projects, designs, and templates.

Understanding Content Designer Permissions

Content Designers have the same permissions as an Admin aside from being able to see categories, projects, designs, and templates that are not shared with them. Furthermore, a Content Designer cannot transfer ownership of anything in Studio when they are only contributors.

Understanding Content Creator Permissions

Content Creators cannot edit templates or designs, even if it is a design they created from a template. They cannot create anything from scratch. They can use designs and templates shared with them, and update properties they have access too. Content Creators cannot change the layout of any design or template. They can view projects and categories that have been shared with them. Content Creators can delete a design, template, or project if they are the owners.

FAQs

Can Content Creators move elements in a template or design?

No, they cannot change the layout. They can move elements within the confines of a bounding box, but not outside.

Why can Admins not delete projects that are not shared with them?

This is a feature we are working on, and will be available in the future.
