Mark an Asset as Downloadable or non-Downloadable

Summary

You can prevent users from downloading assets by marking them as non-downloadable in the advanced rights section during upload or batch editing. Users can preview the asset with a watermark but cannot download it or request access. This is useful for new assets that all portal users should preview without the option to download. 

Who?

Only users with permission to download non-downloadable will be able to download the asset.

This feature/solution requires Customer Support to enable, but then individual permissions can be done by the Bynder Admin.

How?

How to Mark an Asset as Downloadable or non-downloadable

  1. Navigate to the Asset Bank.
  2. Open the Edit tab.
  3. Navigate to the Advanced Rights section.
  4. Tick or Untick the Downloadable check box.
  5. Click Save.

No preview is available for videos and documents (PDFs, PPTXs, and DOCs) marked as non-downloadable. If you want to offer video playback or document preview, use the limited usage feature instead.
