Managing Personal Assets In Studio

Summary

Studio users can upload and manage images, videos, or audio assets directly to the Uploads section of Studio. Assets stored in your Bynder Asset Bank are available in Global Assets.

Who?

This feature/solution requires your Customer Success Contact to enable, but then individual permissions can be done by the Bynder Admin.

Once Studio is enabled, all users can upload personal assets to the Uploads section of Studio. Admins and Content Designers can configure whether Content Creators can use uploaded assets in a variation.

Why?

Studio allows users to incorporate content that is not stored in the Bynder DAM. This is an efficient way to upload assets that do not require full DAM integration. Using Studio Uploads saves time on tagging and taxonomy, allowing users to create content faster. This feature also keeps the DAM clean by bypassing the Asset Bank for assets that do not need to be stored there.

Important: The Studio Uploads section should only be used for assets that are part of a Studio creation. Storing unrelated assets may cause issues if storage capacity limits are reached.

How?

Uploading Assets Directly Into Studio

1. Navigate to Studio and click Uploads in the left sidebar.
2. Click the Upload button to select an asset from your computer.
3. Once the upload is complete, your asset will appear in the Uploads section of Studio.

Note: You can only upload one asset at a time.

Renaming, Downloading, or Deleting a Personal Asset

1. Navigate to Uploads.
2. Select the asset you want to modify.
3. Click the menu button to select what modification you would like to apply to the asset.
4. Click Save Changes.

Important: Deleting an asset from Uploads will permanently delete it from Studio.

Creating a Personal Collection

Collections in Studio are private. They cannot be shared with other users or used outside of Studio.

1. Navigate to Studio and click Uploads in the left sidebar.
2. Select + New Collection in the top right corner.
3. Name the collection.
4. Click Create Collection.
5. Navigate back to All Uploads, then select the assets to add to the collection.
6. Click the Add to Collection button
7. Select the collection from the dropdown and click Add to Collection.

Notes:

• If you upload an asset while in a collection, it will automatically be added to that collection.
• A collection must already exist in Studio for it to appear in the dropdown list.

Renaming, Downloading, or Deleting a Collection

1. Navigate to Uploads > Collections.
2. Select the collection you want to modify.
3. Click the menu button and select your action.
4. Click Save Changes.

Important:

• If you delete a collection, it will be permanently deleted from Studio.
• Designs and templates using assets from that collection will no longer work properly.
