Supported File Formats And Browsers In Studio

Summary

Studio is optimized for uploading image, audio, and video, however only some file formats are supported. Furthermore, Studio is only supported in the Google Chrome browser. 

Images

The max file size 100 MB and the max resolution is 4000x4000px.

Note: HEIC should not be manually changed from HEIC to JPG or other image file formats, this will result in an error.

 

Videos

Video files can be a maximum of 10 minutes long. If you want to upload videos longer than 10 minutes, reach out to your Customer Success Contact.

  • MOV

Note: Studio does not support 4k video files. We recommend using 1080p video files. The max file size is 1 GB.

Supported codec types:

  • ProRes
  • H264

  • VP8
  • VP9
 

Supported Frame rates

We support most frame rates. However, you'll get the best results when using the following:

  • 23.97fps
  • 24fps
  • 25fps
  • 29.97fps
  • 30fps
  • 50fps
  • 59.94fps
  • 60fps
 

Audio

  • WAV
  • LAC
  • AIF
  • MP3
  • AC3
  • AAC

Note: The max file size is 200MB for audio files. 

 

Alpha Channel/Transparency

Alpha channel, or transparency, allows users to use masking in your videos. 

For images, PNG is supported, for video the following codecs are supported:

  • qtrle
  • cfhd
  • ProRes, pixel format: yuva444p10le
  • ProRes RAW, pixel format: yuva444p10le
  • ProRes_ks, pixel format: yuva444p10le
 

Best Practices

For best results, we recommend using the following for uploaded video assets:

  • Codec: H.264
  • Frame Rate: 25
  • Bitrate: At least 20 Mbps
  • AudioCodec: AAC (preferred) or PCM
  • Bitrate: At least 192 Kbps: 16 or 24-bit only
  • Sample rate: 48 kHz
 

FAQs

We do not support .AI file type at this time. We recommend you convert .AI files into PNG files first before uploading.
