Bynder Integration for Salesforce B2C Commerce

Summary

The Bynder Integration cartridge makes it easy to connect the Bynder Digital Asset Management (DAM) platform with Salesforce B2C Commerce. This integration lets business teams use high-quality DAM assets right within their e-commerce setup, helping them create media-rich pages and well-organized product catalogs. The solution works mainly through two interfaces: a custom interface in Business Manager for managing catalog associations, and a Page Designer interface for creating storefront content.

Who?

This integration is intended for the following users:

  • Site Administrators: They manage site-wide integration settings, enable or disable features on different pages (Home, PLP, PDP), and set up asset synchronization jobs.

  • Merchandisers: These users search for products in Business Manager and assign or remove Bynder images, videos, and files to catalog products and categories.

  • Marketers: Content creators who use the Page Designer tool to browse and search the Bynder DAM to create storefront components.

Why?

Integrating Bynder with Salesforce B2C Commerce provides several key business benefits:

  • Centralized Asset Management: Host and manage all media types (images, videos, and documents) in a single DAM platform.

  • Streamlined Workflows: Merchandisers and marketers can access DAM assets directly within the Salesforce interface, reducing the need to switch between platforms.

  • Real-Time Content Deployment: Quickly update storefront pages and product details with high-fidelity assets to enhance the shopper experience.

  • Automated Synchronization: A scheduled job ensures that asset assignments between the Salesforce catalog and Bynder remain consistent.

How?

Manage Global Integration

Site administrators can control the integration status to ensure the storefront performs as expected:

  1. Navigate to the Bynder Site Preferences (found under Administration > Site Development).

  2. Toggle the integration On or Off at the site level.

  3. Specific page integrations (such as Home or PLP) can be toggled individually to control where Bynder content appears.

Assign Assets to Products (Merchandisers)

To link DAM assets to specific products:

  1. Open the Bynder Menu under Merchant Tools in Business Manager.
  2. Search for the desired catalog product by ID.
  3. Use the Universal Compact View provided by Bynder to search for and select images, videos, or documents.
  4. Click Assign to save the media links to the product's custom attributes.

Create Page Designer Content (Marketers)

To build rich storefront pages:

  1. Open the Page Designer tool under Merchant Tools.
  2. Drag and drop a Bynder-enabled component (Image or Video) onto the page.
  3. Access the Bynder Asset Selector interface to browse and search the DAM.
  4. Select the asset to automatically embed it into the Page Designer component.

Limitations and Compatibility

  • Directional Sync: This cartridge does not upload assets or content from Salesforce B2C Commerce back to Bynder; it is a one-way retrieval system.
  • Software Requirements: The cartridge is designed for Salesforce Commerce Cloud API Version 25.3 (Compatibility Mode 22.7) and is tested for SFRA 7.0.1.
  • Privacy: The integration does not collect customer data or track activity on the Salesforce platform
