How To Use The Salesforce DAM Connect Integration

Summary

Keeping up with the demand for content and ensuring versions are always up to date is vital for your creative and marketing teams. The Salesforce DAM Connect integration allows users to search your Bynder DAM from within Salesforce CMS Workspaces, Marketing Cloud Next, B2B Commerce, and Experience Builder. By using your DAM as the system of record for all brand and creative content, your team can ensure a single source of truth across your CMS, storefronts, and email marketing without ever leaving Salesforce.

Who?

This feature/solution can only be enabled by your Customer Success Contact.

Don't have Bynder yet? Start Here.

This feature is available to Marketing, Sales, and Service teams utilizing Salesforce CMS Workspaces, Marketing Cloud Next, B2B Commerce, and Experience Builder.

Note: A Salesforce Administrator is required to configure the app, assign Permission Sets, and set up Remote Site Settings before users can access the integration.

Why?

Teams often face the challenge of inconsistent and manual asset usage, which can lead to inefficient workflows and the risk of using off-brand content. This integration solves that problem by allowing users to search, select, and import Bynder assets for use directly within Salesforce. Because the integration creates a live reference to the asset rather than a static copy, your Salesforce pages, emails, and portals automatically display the latest approved version whenever an asset is updated in Bynder.

How?

Once the connector is successfully installed and connected with the Bynder Portal, users will be able to access Bynder assets directly within Digital Experiences and CMS workspaces.

Adding Assets To The Salesforce CMS

  1. Navigate to Digital Experiences using the App Launcher and open the CMS Workspace.
  2. Click Add and then select Content.
  3. Choose the desired content type (e.g., Image, Audio, Video, Document).
  4. In the next screen, click Add External Asset.
  5. The configured Bynder DAM provider should appear. Select it to open the Universal Compact View (UCV).
  6. Search for assets using keywords, file types, or tags.
  7. Select the asset and click Add Asset.
  8. Click Save once redirected back to Salesforce CMS; the asset is now linked and will appear in your CMS library.

Using Assets In Experience Sites

When building an Experience Site or a Salesforce CMS page, you can select the Bynder asset you previously added to your CMS library. If you are using Bynder Dynamic Asset blocks, you can deliver dynamic, up-to-date, and transformable images (e.g., filtered or resized) to ensure high performance on the public site.

Note: The maximum file size that can be downloaded for Bynder assets is 12 MB due to Salesforce Governor Limits. Assets exceeding this limit will cause an error.

FAQs

Does the integration store a copy of the file in Salesforce?

No, the integration stores a reference to the Bynder asset. This ensures that if you update a version in Bynder, the new version appears automatically in Salesforce without manual re-uploading.

Can I use Collections with this integration?

No, Collections are not currently supported by the Salesforce CMS. It is recommended to hide the switch option in the configuration to prevent users from attempting to access Collections.

How are permissions handled?

The integration respects Bynder permissions. Users will only see and be able to select assets they are authorized to view based on the token or credentials used.

Does this work with Marketing Cloud Account Engagement?

The standard UCV cannot be used for Marketing Cloud Account Engagement email templates. You must use the specific 'Display for Email Template' LWC for that purpose.
