Who can create a homepage using landing pages?

Who can set a Landing Page as your portal homepage?

Note

If you want others to have editing access to the new homepage design, you will need to adjust the permission for the landing page.

Before you Begin

  • If you are replicating your existing homepage with the new and improved Landing Pages, we recommend transferring all essential content from your existing homepage to the new design to ensure a smooth transition.
  • If you haven't already, ensure that all your light users who need access to the published homepage have the Viewer permission enabled in their permission profile.

Formatting Tips

  • Keep the design clean and user-friendly.
  • Use the draft mode to review and gather feedback before publishing.
  • Use videos to engage your users.
  • Add spacing dividers for clarity.
  • Align typography and colors with your brand.

Create your Homepage using a Template

Streamline the process by starting with predesigned templates:

  1. Navigate to CX User Community.
  2. Select Landing Pages.
  3. Select +New Landing Page.
  4. Enter a Title (“Homepage,” etc).
  5. Choose from the pre-built templates.
  6. Customize each section with your copy, branding, and theme.

7. Add widgets or extra section templates for further customization.

Create your Homepage from Scratch

For more flexibility, build your homepage from the ground up.

  1. Navigate to CX User Community.
  2. Select Landing Pages.
  3. Select +New Landing Page.
  4. Enter a Title (“Homepage,” etc).
  5. Select Blank Template.
  6. Start adding widgets by hovering over the page and selecting +.
  7. Use section templates (e.g., banners, body, navigation, footer) or add blank sections.
  8. See below for a step-by-step guide on how to build your homepage.

Section-by-Section Guide to Building Your Homepage

Add Intro/ Welcome Banner

  1. Select section template > Banner (Header Banner).

  2. Add Copy
    • Include a welcome message or portal purpose.
  3. Customize the background by adding an image, GIF, or solid color.
  4. Add redirect buttons to link to your portal's Asset Bank and other sections.
  5. (optional) Add a Secondary Redirect Button. This button redirects users to areas like external websites, your company’s Brand Guidelines, or other Bynder solutions.

Add Content

Tip

Check the Analytics solution/pages (e.g., search) to see what search terms your users are using, and based on this, create cards with redirect links.

  1. Select Section Template > Body > Select any of the body templates that fit your needs.

  2. Add Copy.
    • Use cards to highlight your departments (marketing, sales, etc.), content types (image, video, etc.), content subtypes (logo, icons, powerpoints, etc.), campaigns (sprint, summer campaign), and products.

Add Navigation or Footer Templates to serve as Quick Links.

Previously, you may have added quick links to your homepage to help users easily navigate to specific DAM sections or external resources. With the new homepage experience, these links can be elevated using cards or incorporating footer or navigation templates for a more visually engaging design.

  1. Select Section Template >Navigation or Footer template.

  1. AddCopy to the Card or Button to explain if there is an action item, e.g., click here to download or access.
  2. Add background color or image.
  3. Add a redirect link to specific sections or content in your DAM or external resources for quicker access.
    • For example, you can link to Bynder support articles, end-user training resources, or even external HR links that can serve as a central hub for users to access everything in one place.

Add Bynder Express

  1. Select a button or card widget
  2. Add "https://yourportaldomain.com/express"  to the custom link to give users easy access to the Bynder Express widget.

Add Highlight to Certain Collections

(Especially if it’s around a certain campaign)

  1. Select Widget Collection.

Highlight other Bynder solutions (if enabled, Studio, Content Workflow, Guides)

  1. Select the Widget > Body template with cards, titles, subtitles, and buttons to add navigation tiles that direct users to specific sections tailored to their needs.
    • For instance, if you use our Content Workflow and want users to access it with a single click, you can create a card titled "Access Content Workflow," customize it with an image or colored background, and link it to your company’s Content Workflow URL.

Review Your Homepage

  1. Proofread all text.
  2. Check layout consistency.
  3. Ensure branding guidelines are followed.
  4. Test all links and navigation elements.
    • We recommend that you transfer all necessary content from your existing homepage to the new design before setting your new homepage live.

Tip

Share the draft with specific users for feedback before publishing.

Important Things to Note Before Publishing

  • If you're updating from the legacy homepage and would like to revert to the old homepage layout, you can do so by contacting your Customer Success Contact.
  • If you later decide to disable the Set as homepage option, all users will automatically be redirected to the Assets page.

Publish and Apply Your New Homepage

Caution

  • Once you select Set as homepage, your landing page will be automatically published and visible to all portal users with at least viewer permission.
  • If you do this in error and want to return to your original homepage, please reach your Customer Success Contact.
  1. To set your Landing Page as your new homepage, click Set as homepage
  2. Carefully review the warning message before proceeding. Once you select yes, update my homepage; the content from your current homepage will be replaced and become visible to all portal users with at least viewer permission.
