How To Publish And Delete Content In Guides And Landing Pages

Summary

Once you've created your Landing Page or Guide, you need to publish the content to make it available to the users who have access. Once the content is no longer needed or correct you can delete the section or widget. 

Who?

Users with the Creator or Manager permission can publish or delete the content within Landing Pages and Guides.

Why?

Publishing your work once it is ready is the only way to share the work with users who have been given access. Before publishing only those who are creating the content can access it. Once the work is no longer accurate or necessary users can easily delete the content to maintain accurate and up to date Landing Pages and Guides.

How?

Publishing Landing Pages And Guides

1. Navigate to the landing page or guide you want to publish.
2. Click the Edit button -> Publish.
3. Select the toggle to publish or unpublish the content. 
   • Publishing makes the content visible to all users with access to the guide or landing page.
   • Unpublished content becomes drafts and can only be viewed by editors.

     

Deleting Sections

1. Navigate to the Guide or Landing Page where you want to delete a section.
2. (Optional) click Edit to enable the editing mode.
3. Click the section you want to delete. Make sure you are in the Section tab of the right sidebar.
4. Click the button  at the bottom of the sidebar.

   

5. Read the warning message carefully and click Delete to remove the section permanently. 

Deleting Widgets

1. Navigate to the Guide or Landing Page where you want to delete a widget.
2. (Optional) click Edit to enable the editing mode.
3. Click the widget you want to delete. Make sure you're in the Widget tab of the right sidebar.

   

4. Click the button at the bottom of the sidebar.
5. Read the warning message carefully and click Delete to permanently remove the widget. 

Note: Deleting is permanent and cannot be undone.

What if I delete something I should not have?

Deleting is permanent, there is a warning before content can be deleted, so deleting accidentally should not happen.

Once I unpublish content who can see it?

Only the editors can see them when they are unpublished and drafts.
