Tips for Measuring the Value of Your AI Agents

Summary

Understanding and capturing the impact of your AI agents is essential to demonstrate their value, both for your internal stakeholders and to help us improve the product. Here are practical ways to track the benefits of deploying AI agents. Wherever possible, pull your "before" and "after" numbers directly from Bynder rather than measuring outside the platform: the relevant agent dashboard in Analytics for agent volume (for Enrichment Agents, see How to Track the Consumption of Your Enrichment Agents), and Advanced Analytics for portal-wide usage and search performance. Reach for manual tracking only for the inputs Bynder can't see, such as wages or agency rates.

Resource Savings

Document how much time your team saves on tasks such as product metadata tagging, asset governance, or brand compliance checks.

How to:

  1. Before deploying the agent, take a past workflow (for example, creating alt text, descriptions, and translations for a seasonal product collection, then uploading the images and populating the metadata). Outline the steps in the workflow and estimate how much time each step took (hours, days, weeks), and note any steps with associated external costs, such as creative agencies or translation partners.
  2. After deploying the agent, measure and document how long the new workflow takes and how much marketing spend was saved.
  3. Log the difference in hours saved per week or month.
  4. Multiply by your team's average hourly wage to estimate cost savings.
  5. Add the amount saved in agency and partner costs.

Practical tip: set up a simple spreadsheet documenting "before" and "after" per workflow. For the "after" hours saved, use the Enrichments metric on the Enrichment Agent dashboard (accepted suggestions, i.e. assets actually enriched) as your volume number, then multiply by the time each one used to take manually.

Measure Productivity Gains

Observe how agents accelerate campaign execution or shorten asset turnaround times.

How to:

  1. Note the number of assets you processed in a typical month before agents.
  2. Track the number processed per month with agents.
  3. Calculate the percentage increase in throughput.

Practical tip: use the Enrichment Agent dashboard's Enrichments metric for step 2, filtered by date range, agent, or group, instead of a manual count. You can also cross-check this against your portal's overall Uploads, Views, and Downloads trends in the Asset Bank Dashboard (Advanced Analytics): a real throughput gain usually shows up there too, not just in the agent dashboard.

Track Search Success (Fewer Zero-Result Searches)

One of the clearest, most Bynder-native signals that enrichment is working is a drop in searches that return nothing. If you have Advanced Analytics, you can measure this directly, without any manual testing outside the platform.

How to:

  1. Go to Analytics > Search > Overview.
  2. Compare the Searches metric to Searches with Results for your selected Time Frame. The difference is your number of zero-result searches; divide it by total Searches to get your zero-result rate.
  3. Run this first as is, across all searches. This includes filter-only searches where no keyword was typed.
  4. Then filter Search Terms is not blank and repeat the same comparison, to isolate keyword searches specifically from users browsing by filter alone.
  5. Set Date Granularity to Monthly (or your preferred period) and track both rates over time, comparing the period before you started using Enrichment Agents against the period after.

Practical tip: a falling zero-result rate, especially on keyword-only searches, is strong evidence that richer metadata is making assets easier to find. Watch it over a few months rather than one snapshot, since search behavior naturally fluctuates. If you don't have Advanced Analytics, the fallback is a manual test: ask a few users to search for known assets before and after enrichment and compare success rate or time to find.

Track Asset Reuse and Repurposing

Measure whether teams reuse more existing assets instead of requesting net-new creative content, thanks to better metadata and findability.

How to:

  1. In Advanced Analytics, open the Asset Bank Dashboard and review your Views and Downloads trends over time. An increase in views or downloads without a matching increase in uploads is a good early signal that existing assets are being found and reused more.
  2. To quantify the effect on net-new creative requests specifically: before deploying, track how many completely new creative assets (not resizes or edits) were requested from internal teams or agencies.
  3. After deploying, track the same metric for the same timeframe and similar campaigns.
  4. Calculate the percentage change in new asset requests.

Practical tip: multiply the difference in new asset requests by the average cost of your assets to reach the dollar value the agent delivered.

Calculate Cost Reductions

Estimate how much you save by reducing agency spend or other external resources.

How to:

  1. Identify tasks you normally outsource (background removal, resizing, product descriptions).
  2. Count how many of those your team now handles in-house with AI agents, using the Enrichments by Agent breakdown on the Enrichment Agent dashboard to isolate volume for the specific agent handling that task.
  3. Multiply by your average agency rate per deliverable.

Practical tip: if you don't know your agency rates, ask procurement or finance for average past invoices.

Measure the Value of Mitigated Business Risk

Measure how agents reduce compliance issues, brand missteps, and legal violations by tracking outdated, unauthorized, or non-compliant assets.

How to:

  1. Track the number of compliance or brand-inconsistent assets found on the web before using agents (wrong logos, expired licenses, missing disclaimers).
  2. Track the same number after deploying agents.
  3. Calculate the reduction in incidents and estimate how many potential escalations were prevented.

Practical tip: assign an average estimated cost per compliance incident (legal review time, retraction costs, agency correction fees). Multiply by the reduction in incidents to estimate the dollar value of risk avoided.
