How To Transfer A Collections Ownership

Summary

If you have created collections and want to transfer ownership to another Bynder user, you can transfer collection ownership individually or in bulk. 

Who?

This feature/solution is enabled by a Bynder Admin.

Once users have the Transfer Collection Ownership permission they can transfer their managed collections to another user. 

How?

Transferring The Ownership Of A Collection You Own

  1. Navigate to the Collection being transferred.
  2. In the details section of the Collection select the button next to your name.
  3. Search and select the name of the user receiving the ownership of the collection. Screenshot 2024-10-03 at 4.02.53 PM.png
  4. Select Transfer. The changes will be available in the Changed Collections section of Change History.
 

Transferring A Collection You Do Not Own

  1. Navigate to your Collection tab.
  2. Open the All Collections page from the lefthand sidebar and select the user whose collection you want to transfer ownership of.
  3. Select the collection you want to transfer. 
  4. Select the  Screenshot 2024-10-03 at 4.02.27 PM.pngbutton and select the user you would like to transfer Collection to.
  5. Select Transfer.The collection is now transferred to the other user, and the previous owner can no longer manage it. The changes will be available in the Changed Collections section of Change History.
 

Bulk Transferring Collection Ownership

  1. Navigate to your Collection tab.
  2. Select the Collections you want to transfer. 
  3. Select the Screenshot 2024-10-03 at 4.02.27 PM.pngbutton and select the user you would like to transfer Collection to.
  4. Select Transfer.The collections are now transferred to the other user, and the previous owner can no longer manage them. The changes will be available in the Changed Collections section of Change History.

FAQs

Can you transfer ownership of a deleted user's collection?

Yes, if you are an Admin or have the Transfer Collection Ownership permission enabled in your account you can transfer the Collection to an active user.
