Bynder UCV For Salesforce: Configuration Guide

Summary

The Bynder UCV for Salesforce application allows Salesforce users to access and manage assets from their Bynder Digital Asset Management (DAM) portal directly within their Salesforce organization. By utilizing Bynder's Universal Compact View, users can browse, select, and use DAM assets across various Salesforce records.

Who?

This application requires specific configuration by a Salesforce System Administrator and utilizes permission sets to manage user access:

  • Bynder Admin: Provides full access to all application tabs, objects, and records, including configuration settings and log entries.

  • Bynder User: Grants permissions to work with the Bynder Compact View and manage asset records.

  • Bynder Viewer: Provides read access to display components, typically used for users who only need to see assets on record pages or Experience Sites.

  • Stakeholder Requirements: For Experience Sites (guest users), administrators must configure guest sharing rules for the Bynder_Asset_Configuration__c object in addition to assigning the Viewer permission set.

Why?

Integrating Bynder with Salesforce through the UCV application offers several key benefits:

  • Centralized Asset Management: Users can access the most up-to-date DAM assets without leaving the Salesforce interface.

  • Automated Updates: Selecting an asset a second time automatically updates the existing record in Salesforce.

  • Storage Flexibility: Assets can be stored as Content Documents within Salesforce (up to 12MB) or linked directly via URLs to save storage space.

  • Cross-Object Support: The compact view can be implemented on standard and custom objects, such as Contacts or Cases.

How?

The configuration of the Bynder UCV is a multi-step technical process. Please note: Comprehensive, step-by-step installation documentation is included in the software package provided upon purchase.

The high-level setup involves the following:

  3. Security Configuration: * Enable Lightning Web Security in Setup > Security > Session Settings.

    • Configure CSP Trusted Sites and Remote Site Settings to allow Salesforce to securely communicate with your Bynder portal domain.

  4. Permission Assignment: Assign the appropriate Bynder Permission Sets to your users based on their required access level.

  5. Component Implementation: Use the Lightning App Builder to drag and drop the Bynder Compact View component onto desired record pages and link it to your authentication configuration.
