How To Use Bynder's Bulk Search Feature

Summary

Bynder knows that teams managing large product lists need a fast and reliable way to filter and find hundreds of SKUs, Bynder's Bulk Search feature assists users in searching large quantities with ease. 

Who?

This feature/solution is enabled by a Bynder Admin.

Users need the Manage Smartfilters permission to configure this feature, then all users can use Bulk Search.

Why?

Bynder's Autocomplete Smart filters Bulk Search feature let users search and refine large lists more efficiently, boosting accuracy and confidence. Users can paste lists from Excel, emails, or documents using common delimiters, refine results with existing Smart filters, all while saving time and reducing errors.

How?

Configuring The Bulk Search Feature

  1. Navigate to Settings >Account> Smartfilter Management.
  2. Select smart filters set to type = autocomplete, enable Show bulk search option.
  3.  Click the save-icon button. The smart filter will now be available for Bulk Search.
 

Using The Bulk Search Feature

For this tutorial we are using the example of a smart filter named SKU. Please use the smart filter name that is configured in your portal.

  1. Navigate to the Asset Bank.

  2. Click the smart filter named SKU.

  3. Press the Bulk Search SKU button. This will open a modal.

  4. Paste or type the MPOs into the modal.

  5. Click Search. The results will appear in the asset overview. 

    (Optional) to edit the list of initially pasted MPOs (to add more, or remove MPOs), open the Smartfilter SKU again. Click Edit Search and repeat from step four.

FAQs

Can I use Bulk Search on any type of smart filter?

This feature only works for smart filters set to type = autocomplete.

Can I run Bulk Search based on option labels?

No, Bulk Search will be run on the metaproperty options database names, not labels

For example:

  • Option database name = “SKU_ABC_123_000”.

  • Option label = “SKU ABC 123”.

Is this feature case-sensitive?

Yes, it's case-sensitive, searches will only match when using the precise upper or lower casing as the database names have.
