Access your Asset Bank on the go by using the Bynder Mobile App. You can search, filter, and view assets, add them to collections, favorite, and share them with others.
The App uses the permission set up in your portal and is available for Android and iOS devices.
Download Android App
Download the app from Google Play.
Logging In

Open the app.
-
Enter your domain (portal URL) and tap . Your portal URL is your website address, for example, byndair.bynder.com.

Log in to the app with your credentials.
-
If it is your first login, you may be presented with Terms and Conditions. Read the Terms of Use and tap Accept if you agree.

Grant the app access to Bynder by tapping on Yes. This will allow the app to fetch the assets from the portal.
Logging Out
There are two ways to log out.

Tap and log out.
-
Tap >Profile>Log out.
Search for Assets
-
You can use the search feature to search for the assets you need. Follow the steps below.
-
Make sure you're in the Assets tab and tap .
-
Type your search terms and tap Enter on your keyboard. Alternatively, you can click a recent search term that displays when you begin your search. The app will return the assets that match your search criteria.
- Further narrow your search by clicking the Image, Document, Audio, or Video filters.

Tap the asset you want to open for a more extensive preview and asset information.
View Assets

Go to the Assets or Collections tab and open the asset you want to view.

A more extensive preview of the asset will open.

Tap in the top right corner of the screen to get more information about the asset. Here, you can see who added the asset, on which date it was added, and all the metadata the asset is tagged with.

Asset Previews
Note
Note: If you want to see thumbnails on your asset screen, please contact your Customer Success Manager.
Learn more about which assets will display a thumbnail preview here. In the asset overview screen, other assets will display file format-specific icons (i.e., PDF, PPT, RAW, AI, ZIP, XLS, and PSD).
Select Assets
Long-press an asset to select it. Tap to select or deselect other files after doing so.
Filter Assets

Tap to narrow your results by selecting the smart filters and metaproperties from your taxonomy. You can use advanced filters such as Asset Type, Orientation, Date Added, Date Modified, and Extra (archived & limited).

Tap the metaproperty options you would like to set as a filter.

Click Apply to filter your assets. The applied filters will appear at the top of the page.
Note
The filters reflect the metaproperties and the options you have in your portal.
Remove Filters
Click an applied filter at the top of the Assets page to remove it. Alternatively, you can click Remove All to remove all filters.
Sort Assets
Would you like to see the latest or oldest assets first, or do you prefer to have them sorted by name?

Make sure you're in the Assets tab.

Tap Date Added (Newest) in the top left corner and tap one of the available sorting options.
Download Assets

Make sure you're in the Assets tab.
-
Tap the asset you want to download.
-
Click the button. Tap Original to download the original file or View Derivatives to download a derivative.
Share Assets
-
Select the asset(s) you want to share and tap . The native file-sharing screen of your Android device will open.

Share the asset(s) typically using your preferred app or channel.
Note

The file-sharing screen may take a few seconds to open, as the asset(s) must be downloaded before they can be shared.

If the file-sharing screen doesn't open, you may have to allow the Bynder app to access your storage. Go to your app settings and make sure to give the Storage permission to the Bynder app.

Mark Assets as Favorite
When you like an asset, you can add it to your favorites. All your favorite items are grouped in a collection so that you can always find them quickly at a later stage. Favorite assets are only available inside the app and not in the portal.

Open the file that you want to mark as a favorite and tap . The asset will be added to your Favorites collection, which you can find in the Collections tab.
When your asset is no longer one of your favorite items, you can easily remove it from your favorites by going inside the asset and tapping.
Upload Assets
You can upload assets in the Bynder app, your photo gallery, or another app that stores files. You can only do this if you have upload media permission enabled.

To upload in the Bynder app:
-
Go to the Assets tab and tap the + Upload Asset button. The native file explorer of your Android device will open. If this button is not available, you don't have upload rights. Contact your portal administrator for more information.

Select the asset(s) you want to upload and click Select.

To upload from your photos library or a different app that stores files:
-
Navigate to the file that you would like to upload.
-
Click the share icon.
-
Select Bynder (you might have to click More to see Bynder).
-

(Optional) The asset(s) will be uploaded to the Waiting Room by default. Depending on your user rights, you can directly upload to the Asset Bank. If applicable, toggle the Skip the Waiting Room switch if you want to upload the assets directly to the Asset Bank.

Enter your asset(s) title in the Update title field.
Note
If you upload multiple assets, all assets will be tagged with the same title.

(Optional) Tap Make titles unique when uploading multiple assets, adding an incrementing number behind the asset title—for example, Brand Logo 1, Brand Logo 2, and Brand Logo 3.

Enter a description for your asset(s) in the Add description field.
Note
If you upload multiple assets, all assets will be tagged with the same description.

Click the Upload to Portal button to start uploading your assets.
Delete Assets

Open the asset you want to delete and tap .
-
Read the warning message and tap Yes to delete the asset. You can select more than one asset to delete at once.
Note
If the button is unavailable, you don't have the right to delete assets. Contact your portal administrator for more information.
View Collections
Tap in the top left corner and go to Collections. Tap the collection you would like to view. The collection will open; you can tap the assets individually for more information.
Add Files to an Existing Collection

Select the file(s) you want to add to a collection.

Tap on the existing collection to add the asset(s). You can only add files to your collections or collections for which you have edit rights.
Note
If the button is unavailable, you don't have the right to add files to a collection.
Add Files to a New Collection
-
Select the file(s) you want to add to a collection.
-
Tap and + to create a new collection.
-
Fill in a name and optionally a description for the collection and tap Create.
Share a Collection
-
Go to the collection you would like to share and tap . The share screen will open. The assets will be placed in a collection to be shared.

Enter the email address(es) of the people you want to share the collection with in the Share with email addresses field. Tap the + icon to add an email address, or tap Enter.

Select the Manage Collection option to allow the recipients to download, manage, and edit the collection. This will make them sub-owners of the collection and, for example, allow them to add files to the collection, remove files from the collection, share the collection, and change the collection's name.
Note
The recipients can only manage your collection if they have an account in the portal.

(Optional) Decide by (un)ticking the Require login box whether you want to require the recipients to log in before they can access your Share. This box may ticked by default, and depending on your rights, you may be unable to untick it.
Note

Ensure the Require login box is unticked when sharing with external users.

Depending on your permissions, you may be unable to untick the Require login box.

(Optional) Use the From/ Until date pickers to set up a start and end date for the Share.
-
(Optional) Enter a description for the collection in the Description field.

Tap or Share to share your assets. The recipients will receive an email with a link to the shared collection.
Delete a Collection
-
Make sure you're in the Collections tab.
-
Open the collection that you want to remove and tap .
-
Read the warning message carefully and click Delete to remove the collection permanently.
Note
This action is permanent and can't be undone.
Updated
