How To Enable And Use WordPress Library Sync Integration

Summary

WordPress is an open-source content management system (CMS) for creating blogs, websites, and more. With the WordPress Library Sync integration, users can synchronize the assets in the Bynder DAM to the WordPress Library and publish media and branded assets from the Bynder DAM directly into WordPress websites.

Who?

This feature/solution requires your Customer Success Contact to enable, but then individual permissions can be done by the Bynder Admin.

Don't yet have Bynder? Start Here!

Once this integration is enabled users with the Portal Settings permission can manage this integration. For more details on configuration, please refer to Integrations Configuration: Recommended Permissions and Best Practices.

Why?

Save time with the Bynder x WordPress Library Sync Integration. Once the integration is configured, assets from Bynder will sync to the WordPress Library after approximately 5 minutes. This integration saves users time thus increasing efficiency.

Note: Bynder assets added before setting up the integration must be manually added to your WordPress Library.

How?

Configuring The Wordpress Library Integration

  1. Configure Bynder assets with the tags needed before syncing to WordPress.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Advanced settings> Portal settings.
  3. Click Browse Integrations in the left sidebar.
  4. In the WordPress section, click Configure.
  5. If you've already configured a Bynder connection, it will be selected. If not, select New Authentication to add your Bynder credentials:
    • Your authentication name: Enter a name for the authentication.
Domain: Enter your unique domain by copying the URL of your Bynder portal (including the https://).
  6. Click Create, then Next.
  7. Select New Authentication and add the following information:
    • Authentication name: Enter a name for the authentication.
    • WordPress Application Password: Copy the WordPress Application Password.
  8. Click Create.
    • Asset Tag: Assets tagged with the corresponding tag will sync to the WordPress Library. Assets will only sync to WordPress once the tags are added in Bynder.
    • We recommend naming the Asset Tag something obvious, such as “WordPress”.
    • Adding multiple tags is possible when separated by a comma, and is an "AND" condition.
    • Static Metaproperties: You can automatically add specific metaproperty values to all assets synced from Bynder to the WordPress Library.
  9. Click Choose an option under Bynder Metaproperty and select a field from the dropdown. Map an asset’s metaproperties to the WordPress Attributes Description, Caption, and Alt Text.
  10. In the Value section, enter the option with which the synced assets should be tagged.
  11. Click Add a new mapping.
  12. Click Next, then Finish.

Editing The Wordpress Library Integration

  1. Navigate to Settings > Advanced settings >Portal settings.
  2. Click Active Integrations in the left sidebar, then Edit in the connection section you would like to update.
  3. Make the changes, and click Save.
