Summary

Once you've created a Landing Page or Guide, you can add media widgets, such as images, videos, or audio from your DAM or personal device, to create a more engaging user experience.

Who?

Users with the Creator or Manager permission can customize guides and landing pages.

Why?

Creating a more dynamic and engaging guide or landing page allows for a more enjoyable and comprehensive experience for the users. Adding images, videos, and audio are an excellent way to make the content more custom and engaging.

How?

Adding An Image

  1. Click Upload to upload an image from your device. You can also click Select to add images from your DAM.
Note: You must have the Mark Assets as Public permission to upload from your device.
  2. Open the dropdown from the bottom of the screen to upload from the DAM.
  3. Select whether you want to add the original, one of the derivatives or, if available, the DAT preset you want to apply to the selected image.

Note: You must have the Mark Assets as Public permission to have the original available.

4. Click Add Asset to add the DAM asset to your landing page.

(Optional) In the Action dropdown, configure what should happen when users click the image.

    • Open preview: Select this option if you want a preview of the image to open when users click it.
    • No action: Select this option if you don't want anything to happen when users click the image.
    • Add link. Select this option if you want a URL to open when users click the image.
    • Enter the URL in the Type URL field and decide whether to open the URL in a new tab by ticking or unticking the Open in a new tab option. The changes will be saved automatically.

Adding A Video

  1. Select the  button to add a video. The video must be marked as public.

  2. Once you’ve selected the video, click Add Asset.

  1. Under the Widget tab, you can customize whether to show the control, autoplay, or loop the video for your users.

Note: Autoplay videos are automatically muted.

Adding Audio

  1. Click thebutton. The audio must be marked as public.
  2. Once you’ve selected the audio file, click Add Asset.

FAQs

Why do I see the "Your account settings do not allow you to add any audio files. Please contact your administrator to enable access." error message when trying to add an audio file?

The file you're trying to add is not marked as public. Please mark it as public first, then try adding it again.

Why do I not see an asset in the Asset Bank when I uploaded it to a Guide or Landing Page?

Assets added directly to a Guide or Landing Page do not get added to the asset bank. These assets exist only in the Guide or Landing Page. Admins can assess which assets have been added to the portal in this way because they will automatically be marked with an archival date 100 years in the future from the date of being added to the portal, and will have minimal pre-defined metaproperties
