Summary
Studio seamlessly imports properly provisioned PSD files with ease. When preparing your PSD file you can reduce the effort needed by editing designs directly within Studio. You can upload nearly any PSD provided it's under 500 MB. Studio works with or without art boards and multi-art boards are supported, though functionality differs between Studio packages.
Note: You must ensure the fonts used are available in Bynder.
Who?
Once Studio is enabled users with the Admin or Designer permission rights can use this feature. However, multi-art board functionality will differ between the Studio Basic and Studio Advanced packages.
Why?
Users can create designs in Studio from scratch or by importing PSD files. Bynder understands that users may prefer to create designs in Photoshop, so we empower those users to be able to update some elements within Studio saving time and creating a more streamlined process.
How?
Before upload consider your PSD design a template in Studio. This means you must consider what parts of the design should be editable, and which must remain static for Studio users.
- We recommend Photoshop users to merge all static layers and rasterize them for optimal Studio performance.
- Use paragraph text and not point text when creating PSD files for Studio.
- Naming conventions matter. Make sure to name each layer with a unique name unless you wish for the content to be linked through content property. This applies to images, texts, and shapes.
- Remember that layers that are locked in your PSD will be reflected in Studio. This can be edited in Studio after upload.
- The PSD needs to be RGB color space.
- Studio does not currently recognize multiple character styles within a single textbox, it will apply the first character style to the entirety of that text box.
Note: Some Photoshop functionality is not supported in Studio. Without merging and rasterizing, these elements will not upload properly and your design may be negatively impacted.
Do not use Photoshops linked layer feature.
FAQs
Why can I only use a 500 MB file?
Studio's performance will be greatly affected if the file size is too large. That is why we highly recommend rasterizing layers and being mindful of file size.
