How To Reorder Metaproperties And Metaproperty Options

Summary

In the Configuration section of Metaproperty Management, you can sort and reorder your metaproperties. 

Who?

Users with the Manage Metaproperties permission can reorder metaproperties and their options.

Why?

Keeping the metaproperties, and metaproperty options from within the DAM organized is a helpful way to manage and maintain assets. Reorder them based on custom desires, or alphabetically, whatever makes the most sense for your needs. 

How?
Reordering Metaproperties

  1. Navigate to Settings > Taxonomy >Metaproperties management and click Configuration in the left sidebar.
  2. Hover over the metaproperty for which you want to change the position.
  3. Click and hold the sort_metaproperties.png button next to the metaproperty and drag and drop it to the desired position in the list.
 

Reordering Metaproperty Options

  1. Navigate to Settings > Taxonomy> Metaproperties management and click Configuration in the left sidebar.

  2. Click the metaproperty with the options that you’d like to sort.

  3. Select Settings in the righthand sidebar and click the configure-users_pencil.png  button next to Options sorting.

  4. By default options are sorted strictly alphabetically, meaning, a, b, c with alpha-characters, and 1, 10, 2 with numeric-characters. An alpha-numeric list means numbers will come before letters based on the first character of the name. Click the dropdown under Sorting and select Custom.

    Note: Custom sort is for Metaproperties with up to 250 options.

  5. Click and hold thesort_metaproperties.png button next to the metaproperty then drag and drop it to the desired position in the list.

  6. Alternatively, click the up_and_down_arrow.png button to move the metaproperty option to the top of the list or the (bottom icon) to move it to the end.

  7. The sort order save automatically.
