Add Guidelines and Instructions to your Content Workflow Structure

Incorporating guidelines and instructions into your Content Workflow templates will help your team grasp the content requirements more easily, reducing the need for multiple clarifications and expediting the content creation process. 

Add Instructions to a Field

  1. Navigate to Content Workflow.
  2. Select the field you want to edit and click on the box Include some instructions for this field.
  3. Add your instructions and Save.[CW] Field guidelines.png

Add a Guidelines Field to a Structure

  1. Navigate to Content Workflow.
  2. In the structure editor, drag and drop a guidelines field onto the page.[CW]Add guideline field.png
  3. Name the field, and include any guidelines you want to share with your team.[CW] Guideline field@2x.png
  4. Click Save.

Tip: You can use formatting to include bullets, text formatting, or hyperlinks. All hyperlinks should be added with a HTTP(s):// at the beginning e.g. https://mylink.com

Re-Name your Fields

  1. Navigate to Content Workflow.
  2. In the structure editor, hover over the field name you want to update and click either the name oredit-metadata_pencil.png[CW] Rename Field.png
  3. Click Save.

Add Word or Character Limits to a Text Field

  1. Navigate to Content Workflow.
  2. In the structure editor, locate the field to which you want to add the word or character limit.
  3. In the top-right of the field, select Content Limit.[CW] Word:Char Limit.png
  4. Select Screenshot 2024-05-10 at 3.00.09 PM.png[CW] Word limit.png
  5. Enter the amount you want to limit the content by, then choose the type (characters or words). The character limit counts include spaces.
  6. Click Save.
