Note
The use of AI Assist is subject to additional terms. You will have the opportunity to review and accept these terms when you enable AI Assist on your account.
Enable AI
To start using AI, simply enable it from your account settings. You can now start generating AI content in your items.
AI is opt-in, meaning it is never enabled automatically. This places AI access firmly in your hands. Both enabling and disabling AI are instant and will affect all users on your account immediately.
What happens when I disable AI?
Disabling AI is non-destructive, meaning any content already generated by AI Assist will remain there until it is deleted as normal. From the point of disabling AI on an account, AI Assist will become inaccessible to your team.
Use AI Assist
AI Assist can only be used inside text fields (excluding plain text).
- Select the AI Assist button in the formatting toolbar.
- Alternatively, you can use the media toolbar by hitting Tab when on a new line.
- Alternatively, you can use the media toolbar by hitting Tab when on a new line.
- Enter a prompt. Content is generated in response to the prompt you provide and inserted into the text field. This method allows you to generate all kinds of content – you can ask questions, request article drafts, stories and even poems around your chosen subject. We also provide some suggestions for you to use to get you started.
Tips for using AI
- Use reservedly: AI shouldn’t be seen as a replacement for humans, but more as an assistant. AI can’t replicate human emotion and creativity.
- Ask politely: Like humans, AI responds better to clear instructions. Use plain language and avoid typos to achieve the best results.
- Check the response: AI isn’t always right. Check to make sure you’re happy with your response. AI is good with natural language, but can’t always discern fact from fiction.
Note
Prompts will be moderated upon submission in line with OpenAI’s usage policies. Any prompt deemed to violate these policies will result in that individual user losing access to AI features. An email notification will be sent to both the user and the account owner with further details, including instructions on how they can regain access to AI.
Find and identify AI content
When it comes to AI content, we have tools to help you manage both findability and accountability.
AI content filter
From the content hub, simply select the AI content filter to find any items in your current view that content AI content.
Content highlighting
AI-generated content is always highlighted in purple. This allows you to quickly identify AI content when scanning through content items. Alteration to the generated content will remove the highlight, excluding format changes such as bold or heading formats.
You can toggle the purple AI content highlight via the button in the status bar. Doing so only affects your experience, allowing others to see highlighted content as needed.
Revision history
In the revision history, hovering over AI content will tell you who added that content. AI is also shown as a contributor on relevant revision snapshots.
Manage project access
Depending on how you organize your content with projects, there may be a need to disable AI on a per-project basis.
To do this, navigate to the settings of your chosen project and toggle the Access to AI setting off.
Manage workflow access
In order to give you more granular control over its use inside projects, AI can be disabled for individual workflow steps where required. A common use case for this would be to enable AI for early draft stages, speeding up the creation process, and then disabling it for later review stages to ensure human-only sense-checking.
When editing a workflow, you will see the AI Assist setting in the settings panel for each workflow step. Note that this setting is only visible if AI is enabled for the project you're in.
