Before setting up

Please ensure the following is enabled in your SAP Commerce Cloud Connector and Bynder accounts. Make sure you set up Bynder metaproperties you would like to map to the SAP Commerce Cloud Connector metadata. Once the SAP Connector is enabled in your portal, download the configuration documentation here.

Admin Tip

  • We advise you to set up one or more specific derivatives that fit the required dimensions and file format (JPG and PNG) for your SAP product imagery. This way, the right product imagery will be created upon upload to Bynder.
  • Map specific derivatives with SAP media formats.

Supported File Formats

The SAP Commerce Cloud Connector supports JPG and PNG images. Other file types and file extensions aren't supported.

Supported Versions

The SAP Commerce Cloud Connector supports all SAP Commerce releases that fall under the mainstream maintenance program. Read more about the SAP Commerce supported releases here.

Installation files are specific to each version:

  • SAP Connector v4.0 for SAP version 2205
  • SAP Connector v4.0 for SAP version 2211 (up to 2211.11)
  • SAP Connector v4.1 for SAP version 2211.12+

How to Use The Set-Up Connector

  1. Once your portal has been set up to make use of the SAP Connector download the configuration documentation here.

How to Use The Connector

After configuration, you can manually add Bynder assets to products and CMS pages through Backoffice and SmartEdit. In addition, you can search, browse, and filter Bynder assets within SAP Commerce Cloud. When uploading a new asset to Bynder, you can tag it with a unique identifier linked to a product in SAP. For example, a product ID. This way, the connector can automatically sync the asset with the corresponding product in SAP.  The information coming from SAP can be used to tag your Bynder metaproperties with the correct data automatically. Optionally, you can set up a Bynder metaproperty that indicates for which SAP multiple media attribute fields this asset needs to be used. By selecting the appropriate metaproperty options upon upload to Bynder, you can automatically ensure that the asset will be used for the appropriate SAP multiple media attribute fields.
