Understanding The Asset Report Dashboard

Summary

Bynder offers extensive analytics options for our users. One such offering is the Asset Report. This dashboard is configured to assist Standard and Advanced Analytics users to get an overview of their reports.

The report provides a full, exportable list of all assets in a customer’s portal, including key metadata and operational fields. Users can filter most of the columns as well as export the results to CSV.

Who?

This feature/solution requires your Customer Success Contact to enable, but then individual permissions can be done by the Bynder Admin.

Once enabled users need the View advanced reporting permission to access this dashboard.

Why?

It's important for users to be able to understand which Assets are currently part of their DAM, and what their accompanying taxonomy data is. The Assets Report Dashboard empowers users a self-service option to get an overview of all assets, allowing for bulk reviews, prepare for migrations, and easily accomplish internal compliance audits.

How?

Accessing the Asset Report dashboard is easy. Simply click the settings wheel, scroll down to Reporting then select Analytics. From here users can select the Asset Report Dashboard in the lefthand side menu.

Understanding The Asset Report Dashboard

The Asset Report provides information on an individual asset level. Users have a wide range of filters, corresponding to the columns in the table.  Users can sort each column, and all data can be exported to a CSV file.

The report supports 500 rows of data in the UI.

Note: The report cannot be sorted by asset metadata. The entire media report needs to be exported and then filtered further in a data viewing software.

Downloading The Asset Report As A Table

  1. Start by pressing the three-dots button in the upper right-hand corner of the table.
  2. Select Download data.

FAQ

Can I use the Asset Report to see all assets restricted to a specific group, such as "Visible To: Creative"?

The Asset Report does not have a built-in filter for metaproperty permission settings, but you can still get this list by exporting the full report and filtering it externally.

Follow these steps:

  1. Access the Asset Report Dashboard and download the full report as a CSV (see Downloading The Asset Report As A Table above, making sure to select All results).
  2. Open the CSV in a data viewing tool such as Excel or Google Sheets.
  3. Filter the relevant metaproperty column (e.g., "Visible To") by the option you need, such as "Creative."

Note: The Asset Report cannot be filtered by asset metadata directly in the UI, so the export and filter approach is required. If you cannot see a "Visible To" column in your export, contact your Bynder Admin to confirm how asset permissions are configured in your portal's taxonomy.
