Secure Embedded Assets

Summary

Bynder users can secure embedded assets such as images, videos, and PDFs, allowing only authenticated Bynder users to view and access them. Users can securely embed these assets on an authenticated platform, such as an intranet.

Who?

This feature/solution requires Customer Support to enable, but then individual permissions can be done by the Bynder Admin.

Users with the Edit Assets permission can securely embed assets.

Why?

Embedded assets allow a layer of security for the DAM. Once secure embeds are enabled, users will not need to mark assets as public to be embeddable. If a Bynder user clicks on the embed code, they will be prompted to enter their Bynder credentials. If they do not have a Bynder account, they cannot access the asset.

How?

Securely Embedding An Asset

  1. Navigate to your Asset Bank.
  2. Select an asset you would like to embed securely.
  3. Open the Info tab to view Asset Detail View.
  4. Check the Media is embeddable box. Screenshot 2024-02-09 at 3.09.50 PM.png
  5. Copy the link to embed the media.

Using Secure Embed Codes

Once you've copied the secure embed code to your device, you can use it on any authenticated platform.

  1. Navigate to the authenticated platform or Intranet.
  2. Click on the asset you would like to view. A new window will open.
  3. Click on Login.Screenshot 2024-02-09 at 3.17.43 PM.png
  4. The Bynder login page will open, login to Bynder using your username and password. You can now view the embedded asset.

FAQs

Can I see the embedded assets without being logged in?

All assets for which you have a secure embed code will require additional authentication from the end user, i.e., the end user must log in.

Can I use this feature for Collections?

This currently works only at the asset level; it does not support Collection embed codes.
