How to Change the Metaproperty Type?

Do you want to change the type of a metaproperty? Changing the metaproperty type of an existing metaproperty can have serious implications for your portal taxonomy and overall stability of the portal. Make sure that you know what metaproperty types can be changed before making any modifications. Learn everything about it below.

What Metaproperty Types can be Changed?

The following metaproperty types are interchangeable:

Note

Do not change the metaproperty type of an existing metaproperty if the table below indicates that no changes are possible. If you change the metaproperty type nonetheless this can have severe implications for your portal taxonomy and stability. The existing metaproperty options will be lost and can't be restored.

What to do When a Metaproperty Type Change Went Wrong?

Did a non-supported metaproperty type change take place in your portal? You may have lost existing metaproperty options and in some cases this change may result in an unstable portal.

Contact your Customer Success Manager right away and explain as detailed as possible what happened and which metaproperty is impacted.
