Get Started with Print Brand Templates

Use the Print Brand Templates module to manage and customize printing materials easily. With a user-friendly editor, you can make changes online and upload them to the workflow for review and approval. This module saves you time by allowing you to create and edit templates, eliminating the need to start from scratch when designing items like business cards or collateral. You can also set specific parameters for your templates, enabling other users to modify only certain elements, such as the logo, background, or theme/style.

How to enable this feature in your portal?

Contact your Customer Success Contact to enable this feature in your portal and any associated costs.

You can create templates and make template presets based on these templates. For instance, you can have a template that you modify for the French and German markets. This allows you to generate two template presets from a single template. With each preset, you can choose which elements users can modify and which are fixed. Look at the article on how to "Recreate a Print Brand Template for a specific market" for more information.

As an administrator, you can upload Do-It-Yourself templates, or template presets for other users. You can also link specific templates to a workflow preset. This allows users to choose from a selection of templates and customize them when they are working on a job based on this preset. Alternatively, you can send your InDesign files to Bynder, and we will convert them into a template. Please make sure to follow our guidelines when preparing the files. To review the guidelines, please visit Prepare your InDesign package.

A standard process for a Print Brand Templates user

  1. Start a Print Brand Templates job in the workflow.

  2. Select a template for your materials.

  3. Customize the materials. You can preview the results before you save them.

  4. Send the job to the next stage. Depending on the workflow, this can be a review or approval stage.

Print Brand Templates Admin Tasks

Note

You must have the Template management, Add preset, and preset overview rights to perform the tasks.

  1. Upload templates for users. You can do it yourself or send your InDesign files to Bynder to upload and turn into templates. Please take a look at Prepare your InDesign package.

  2. Configure your templates. SeeManage Print Brand Templates and Presets.

  3. Create template presets, which are customized versions of the same template. See Recreate a Print Brand Template for a specific market.

  4. Create a Print Brand Templates workflow preset for users. The preset should define the steps, such as approval or order, whether or not users can upload assets to the workflow, and at which stage users can select a template to edit for the stage where users can choose templates, select Use own templates, and choose one or multiple templates for users.

  5. You can generate multiple outputs from your template preset. For example, you can create high- and low-resolution business cards. If this option is set up in Bynder, select the output type when you create or edit your template preset.
