Order Metaproperty Options Alphabetically

You can set up metaproperty options to be ordered alphabetically. The way to do this depends on whether it is a new or existing metaproperty. Select your situation below.

I want to order the options of a new metaproperty alphabetically

1. Go to Settings > Taxonomy > Metaproperties management.
2. Click +Add to add a new metaproperty and configure it according to your needs. See here to learn how to Create metaproperties.
3. Select Label in the Order option and click Save. You will be redirected to the metaproperty management screen.
4. Select the metaproperty of which you want to order the options alphabetically.
5. Add the metapropery options without adjusting the Z-index.
6. You can always add metaproperty option(s) at a later stage. The system will make sure that all options are reordered so that they show up in alphabetic order.

I want to order the options of an existing metaproperty alphabetically

Metaproperties that were not created with the Order options set to Label need to be sorted alphabetically by adjusting the Z-index.

1. Go to Settings > Taxonomy > Metaproperties management.
2. Click on the metaproperty of which you want to order the options alphabetically.
3. Click +Add Options.
4. Enter 1 in the Z-index field for every option.
5. When adding options at a later stage, don't forget to set their Z-index to 1, so that all options will be ordered alphabetically.
6. Save your changes.
