Asset Tracker

  • Updated

You can keep track of updated and deleted assets in your Bynder Portal via Asset Tracker. In addition, you can track which assets are used in your external CMS solution and alert users when they try to archive or delete an asset that is used on a different channel.

Note

The Asset Tracker section is only visible if there is tracking data available.

How to Integrate Asset Tracker in Your Portal

There are two ways you can integrate and set up the Asset Tracker.

  1. Via out-of-the-box solution:

The Asset Tracker currently works out of the box with the following solution:

    • Drupal 8

    • Episerver

    • WordPress

  1. Manually integrate the Asset Tracker

If your Bynder Portal is integrated with one of these integrations, you can implement the Asset tracker yourself by using our asset usage API calls. In addition, you can use Bynder SDKs, which already have the Asset Tracker usage calls implemented by default. Check out the three calls below if you want to integrate them into your code manually.

      • Create: Use this call to create a record for the Asset Tracker that the asset is used externally.
      • Retrieve: Use this call to retrieve information on where your assets are used externally.
      • Delete: When you no longer use the asset on your external CMS, the record also needs to be removed from the Asset Tracker. This removal can be done via this API call.

How to View Asset Tracker

Note

If you do not see any information in your selected asset, your asset is most likely not used on an external CMS solution. When adding an asset to one of the supported CMS solutions, the data in the Asset tracker gets automatically updated. Double-check to make sure that your CMS is supported natively, or check whether your custom Asset Tracker integration is working correctly.

  1. Either navigate or search for an asset and click it to be directed to the Asset detail page.
  2. Click the Statistics tab.Screenshot 2023-10-25 at 1.07.04 PM.png
  3. Click View Asset report at the bottom of the tab.
  4. Here, you can see the CMS system(s) the asset is used, which page, and when it was added.
  5. You can click on the URL to go to the page where the asset is used.
