Sorting and managing assets

You can use the search bar or filters to search for the assets you need. You can also save the filter set you use to apply it next time you are looking for the same assets. See Searching for Assets.

The Asset overview page allows for sorting assets so that you can keep track of the recently modified media (Order by date modified), see the assets based on the date they have been added to the Assets Bank, or in an alphabetical order based on the filename of the asset. You can also sort assets based on their publication date or the number of times they were viewed. If you set a future publication date, this will be taken into account and displayed accordingly. If you use filters or the search bar, assets will be automatically ordered based on relevance.

You can combine the available sorting options with ascending and descending sorting. In this way, assets will be sorted from the most recent to the least recent ones, and if you sort by Name, they will be arranged from A-Z or Z-A. Use the arrow icon to apply the ascending or descending sorting.

The default assets in the Asset Library are sorted by Date published and in descending order. If you want to change this and, for example, have the assets sorted by Date added or in ascending order, contact your Bynder Customer Success Manager.

In the Asset overview, click the icon to start the duplicate finder. The finder searches the whole database to find duplicate assets. The duplicates are found based on pHash comparison. You can then decide which of the duplicate set should be marked as original, and you can delete duplicates. See Find your asset duplicates.

The action widget allows you to quickly start working with your assets. The bar displays when you select one or multiple assets. You can click the icons to add the assets to a collection, edit, share, or download the selected assets, or select or de-select assets. For more information on selecting assets, see Select assets in the Asset Library to work with them.

You can hover over assets to see their preview. If you want to see a preview of a document, you need to click on the asset to go to the Asset detail page. Click Look into document to preview the document.

The Asset Library offer multiple views which you can change to display your assets differently.

You can select the grid view or the list view.

When viewing the grid view or collections, you can make use of the Zoom-slider, which means you can change the size of the thumbnails.

The default view in the DAM is the grid view. However, we can change this default for you. For more information, see Change the view in the Asset Library.

You can add or hide the metaproperties that display in Asset detail by modifying the settings of metaproperties. For more information on metaproperties.

The Publication date, Tags, Copyright and Advanced Rights tabs show on the Asset detail page and in the upload screen. If you decide you want to hide any of them, contact your Customer Success Manager.

Select an asset in the asset overview, and click the share icon in the action widget. The system will prompt you to create a collection. Enter the user or a group and set the date period in which the assets should be available for recipients. For more information, see Create, manage and share collections.

You can also share a file by clicking on a specific asset and copying the URL in the Link to file tab. However, in this way you can only share files with other users of the system.
