You can use different naming conventions for your assets. For example, you can add a title to your assets so that when you download the asset, this title will be used as the filename. Find out below how you can use the original filename as naming convention for your assets.
Contact your Customer Success Manager if you would like to have this feature enabled for your portal.
We can display the original filename of the asset in the Info tab of the asset detail view. Contact your Customer Success Manager if you want this feature to be enabled for your portal.
Note
Note: The character limit for the asset title field is 400 characters
By default Bynder downloads assets with the original file name. Contact your Customer Success Manager if you want to use the asset title inside Bynder as file name instead. If prefixes and suffixes have been set up for your derivatives, you can also discuss with your Customer Success Manager whether you want to have them included in the filename or not during download.
Below you can find the steps explaining how you can set the filename as title during upload. Also you can read more about the two filename customizations that we can enable for your portal during upload.
Note
This option is not available in the Waiting Room or when you export assets from Creative Workflow to the asset bank or waiting room.
-
Upload your asset(s).
-
Tick the Use filenames as title box in the left sidebar.
-
Finish your upload.
If you want this box to be automatically ticked during upload to your environment, contact your Customer Success Manager.
Tip
Does your filename include a product number?
Separate your product number with an underscore (_) from the rest of the title, so that users later can search by product number. For example: product_1234.jpg.
Without separator (product1234.jpg) the product number will not be indexed and cannot be used for future searches.
-
We can include the file extension in the title when you decide to use the filename as title for your assets. For example, when uploading an image with the filename bynder.jpg, the title will also be bynder.jpg instead of bynder. Contact your Customer Success Manager if you want to have this feature enabled for your portal.
-
We can display the original file name below the thumbnails in the upload screen. Contact your Customer Success Manager if you want to have this feature enabled for your portal.
