Do you want to avoid that one user or a small group of users are responsible for approving all download requests? Divide their workload and make use of individual download approvers instead. This will give you the flexibility to set up one specific download approver for each watermarked asset.
By applying a watermark to your assets you can make sure that they are only downloaded by users who have the right to. Users who don't have sufficient rights to download watermarked material right away can submit a download request. Read more about watermarks here.
Administrators or specific download approvers can audit these requests. By making use of specific download approvers you can avoid that one user or a small group of users are responsible for approving all download requests. This way, you can reduce the workload of your administrators. Also having specific approvers in place ensures that the download requests are audited by approvers who know the content allowing them to better judge whether users should be able to download it or not.
When a download request comes in the assigned download approver receives a notification that a download request is pending their approval.
Contact your Customer Success Manager if you would like to have this feature enabled for your portal. When we enable this feature we will create a new metaproperty, which you can use to assign specific download approvers to your watermarked assets.
Once this feature has been set up for your portal, you can start assigning specific download approvers to your assets.

Start uploading your assets. Read more about uploading assets here.
Tip
By default, all assets are selected in the upload screen. Make sure to deselect the assets that should not be watermarked before moving on to step 2.

In the left sidebar go to the Advanced section and tick Show watermark. Read more about watermarks here.

Click the Download approver metaproperty and enter the name of the user who needs to be assigned as specific download approver for the watermarked assets. Click the returned name or email address to assign this user as the specific download approver.

The selected download approver will be assigned to all the watermarked assets that are selected in the upload screen.

(Optional) apply other metadata to your assets.

Click Store selected file(s) to finish your upload.
The specific download approver will be notified once a user submits a download request.

Open the asset you want to assign a specific download approver to.

Open the Edit tab.

Go to the Advanced Rights section and make sure that Show watermark is ticked.

Click the Download approver metaproperty and enter the name of the user who needs to be assigned as specific download approver for the watermarked asset. Click the returned name or email address to assign this user as the specific download approver.

Click Save to save the changes
The specific download approver will be notified once a user submits a download request.
