Use the Select2 metaproperty

You can edit and load your metaproperty options much faster with a new metaproperty type: Select2. Select2 combines the features of the Select and Autocomplete metaproperty types.

It displays a drop-down with options at once to select from. The options load fast as you scroll through them making it easy and quick to select multiple options. You can also start typing to activate the autocomplete option that provides suggestions.

This new metaproperty type is especially useful for metaproperties with a larger number of options. However, you can also decide for the metaproperty to be single-select.

Note

With select2 you cannot add new metaproperty options on upload or edit.

Try it

  1. Go to settings-icon.pngSettings > Taxonomy > Metaproperties management.

  2. Create a new metaproperty or edit an existing one.

  3. Choose Select2 as the metaproperty type.

    Note

If you edit an existing metaproperty and change its type to Select2, all the dependencies and permissions linked to this metaproperty options do not change.

  4. (Optional) To add dependencies to Select2, enter the dependent metaproperties in the Metaproperty Dependencies box. For more information on dependencies, see Manage metaproperties.

Results

You can now quickly select from your metaproperty options for the edited metaproperty when you edit media to the Asset Library or on media upload.

If you add or edit several assets, you can apply metaproperties to all of them or click on the eye-icon.png icon to activate the Optional fields section and add metaproperties directly to specific assets.

The options added to selected assets will be greyed out in the overview.
