End User Quick Start Guide to Bynder

Welcome to Bynder! This guide is designed to help you quickly and easily navigate your Bynder portal and walk you through the essential features and tools you'll need to get started. By the end of this guide, you can confidently access your content and make the most of Bynder's powerful digital asset management capabilities.

What is DAM?

A digital asset management (DAM) system like Bynder is designed to help organizations efficiently store, organize, and share digital assets such as images, videos, documents, and other multimedia content.

How Will Bynder Benefit Me?

Bynderʼs digital asset management (DAM) is a record system for all brand, campaign, and product-related assets. With its AI-powerful functionality, intuitive UI, and rich set of integrations, it helps global teams store, manage, find, and deliver assets efficiently for a world-class customer content experience.

With Bynder DAM, you don't have to search through multiple folders* or systems to find what you need. Collaborating and sharing assets with external customers, agencies, or partners is also easy. Bynder ensures quick and hassle-free access to on-brand and up-to-date assets.

*Bynder uses a taxonomy structure instead of a traditional folder structure. This approach is more dynamic and flexible, allowing you to organize, manage, and retrieve digital assets without the limitations of a folder-based system. With taxonomy, you can filter thousands of assets by specific tags, making finding what you need easier.

Supported Browsers

We recommend using the latest version of Google Chrome to have the best experience when accessing your Bynder portal. Click here to learn more about supported browsers.

Portal URL

Most company portal URLs are [YourOrganizationName]. bynder.com, although some may be in a different format that does not mention “Bynder” in the domain name. Contact your Bynder administrator if you don't have an account or are unsure about the URL.

Logging in for the First Time

Depending on how your Bynder Portal Admin has configured your account, you can log into your portal in two ways.

  1. Via SSO

  2. Via Email Activation

Logging in via SSO (Single Sign On)

Once you navigate to your Bynder portal, click the SSO login button. You will then be automatically redirected to your company’s identity provider (e.g., Okta, SAML, Google).

Email Activation

Check your email to see if you receive a message from your Bynder Admin, and select Activate Now.

Create your Login Credentials

If your organization does not have Single Sign On enabled, you may need to create a password and enter additional details required by your administrator. We suggest using a password with eight or more characters in combination with uppercase, numbers, letters, and special characters.

Forgot your Password?

If you need help remembering your password, learn more about resetting it here.

Complete your User Profile

You can manage and update the details of your user profile under Edit Profile. The only required fields are username, email, and first/last name.Screenshot 2024-06-17 at 2.32.40 PM.png

  • Quicklinks: The Admin sets up these to provide quick access to important information, such as links to the Bynder Knowledge Base, external resources, or internal content within the DAM.Screenshot 2024-02-08 at 2.21.15 PM.png
  • News Section: This section provides updates on portal news posted by the Admin. Occasionally, your Admin may feature new collections in this section.
  • Bynder Express: If this is enabled in your portal, you can share files (that do not live in the DAM) (up to 40 GB) via email or link with internal or external users. It may appear either at the top or bottom of your homepage.Screenshot 2024-09-10 at 2.00.45 PM.png

Quickly find the right resource when you need it.

Your Bynder Admin has configured your DAM to make searching for valuable and up-to-date assets easy.
If enabled, Bynder search has advanced AI capabilities to help you find the right resource with little effort.

Note

Your Bynder Admin controls what users can and cannot see, so you may not see certain assets your colleague can see. If you feel assets are missing from your portal, please contact your DAM Admin.

You can search for assets in three different ways:

Download the file type and size you need

The great thing about the Bynder DAM is that you can download assets with a button.

  • You can download one or more assets stored in your Asset Bank.
    • If your Admin sets up the download request form, you may be required to fill out the download request form before downloading an asset.
    • You can also request to download assets with a Watermark applied. Your Admin will have to approve your request before you can download it.

How to Share Assets with Bynder Users or Non-Bynder Users

You can share your assets with internal or external individuals, permission profiles, or groups.

If you want to share one or more assets, you can create a Collection, or if you have permission, you can send links to public Collections.

Note: You can customize the Collection permissions, such as allowing the user to download the assets, view them, or download any assets with a watermark applied (if configured).
