Subtitle support in Adaptive Video Streaming enhances video accessibility and inclusivity by allowing easy addition of multi-language subtitles. With the ability to upload, replace, download and delete.SRT & .VTT transcription files directly in the Asset Detail View, this feature gives you full control over the captioning capabilities for your Adaptive streaming Video Content. This feature helps make your content available to a broader audience, including non-native speakers and individuals with hearing impairments. With support for multiple languages and integrated video delivery analytics, you can optimize content to reach international viewers, improve user engagement, and expand your viewer base. Additionally, automatic subtitle conversion and AI transcription features minimize manual work, saving time for content managers.

This feature is available for those who have CX Omni Channel/ Dynamic Asset Transformation (DAT) enabled in your portal.
How to Add Subtitles to Your Videos
Upload Your Own Subtitle File
- Use a .VTT File: The platform supports uploading subtitle files in the .VTT format, which is compatible with Adaptive Video Streaming.
- Support for.SRT Files: You can upload an.SRT subtitle file. The system will automatically convert it into a.VTT format during processing.
Add Multiple Subtitles in Different Languages
You can upload subtitles in multiple languages for the same video, allowing you to reach a broader and more diverse audience.
Use AI Speech to Text for Transcriptions
If you don’t have a .VTT file, you can use the AI Speech to Text feature (available with the AI package) to generate a transcription directly from your video. Once the transcription is generated, you’ll need to manually download it as a .VTT file and upload it to the platform.
How to Manage Subtitles
To manage subtitles in Adaptive Video Streaming, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Asset Bank.
- Select the asset (video) you want to manage.
- Locate the Subtitles section in the Asset Detail View.
- New subtitles will be marked with a “new” tag for easy identification.
- The Subtitles dropdown menu is available for easy access to subtitle management options (upload, download, replace, delete).
Important Information
- Manual Upload: After generating a transcription file using AI Speech to Text, download the transcription as a .VTT file and manually upload it to the Adaptive Video Streaming asset.
- File Format: .VTT is the preferred file format for subtitles. If you upload an .SRT file, it will be automatically converted to .VTT during processing.
