Transferring template ownership in Studio is important when reallocating responsibilities or ensuring proper template management. As a template owner, you can edit, update, or delete the template as needed.
You can share a template with another user without transferring ownership. This will allow them to use the template, but they cannot change it.
Note
Once ownership is transferred, the template will no longer appear under the original owner's account.
Who can transfer ownership of a template in Studio?
How to Transfer Ownership of a Template
- Navigate to Studio > Templates.
- Use the dropdown menu and select Not shared with me. This filter displays templates that are not currently shared with your account.
- Locate the desired template and select the Share option from the dropdown.
- Add your user account to share the design with yourself.
- In the sharing settings, modify the access level from Can Access > Transfer Ownership.
- Confirm the action to transfer the ownership of the template to your account.
- Return to the template overview and select Owned by Me from the filter.
- The template should now appear in your list of owned templates.
