View and Restore Field History in Content Workflow

In Content Workflow, you can view the revision history of individual fields and restore their previous versions. This allows you to revert a field's content to a previous version without impacting the rest of the item. The feature provides flexibility and control over the content production process, ensuring you can easily retrieve and utilize previous content as needed.

Who can see field history?

Users with the following permissions can see the field history

  • Edit Content

How to View the History of a Field

  1. Navigate to your Content Workflow > Content Tab.
  2. Select an item

  4. Here, you can see the complete history of this field. It includes all the content changes, status changes, the dates they happened, and who made them.Screenshot 2024-04-09 at 3.45.14 PM.png

How to Restore the Previous Version of a Content Field

  1. Navigate to your Content Workflow > Content Tab.
  2. Select an item
  3. ClickScreenshot 2024-04-09 at 3.43.12 PM.png next to the content field you want to restore and select View History.
  4.  Select the toggle Screenshot 2024-04-09 at 3.49.11 PM.pngto see the content changes, which will make it easier to navigate to the version you would like to restore.
  5. Once you've selected the version you want to restore, click Restore at the bottom right-hand corner.
  6. This action will replace the existing content with the previous version.

You cannot restore an item if the status is locked or in read-only mode.  Screenshot 2024-04-09 at 4.03.45 PM.png
