External users are able to send files through the Bynder External Uploader. This allows a Bynder admin to receive assets from external vendors such as photographers or agencies without having to use a third-party file-sharing service before the assets are sent to the Bynder DAM.
As a Bynder Admin you can adjust the settings and control if you want the External Uploader to appear on your Bynder login page, restrict who can upload assets to the external uploader and who receives notifications.
Who can manage settings for External Uploader?
Users with the following permissions can manage settings for External Uploader:
- Waiting room access
Hide the External Uploader
The uploader is enabled by default however it is possible to hide. If you would like to hide your External Uploader from the login page please contact Customer Support.
Require users to log in
Contact Customer Support if you would like to require external users to log in prior to uploading assets to the external uploader.
NOTE: This setting will prevent external users without a Bynder account from receiving a confirmation email with the files shared by the External Uploader.
Limit who receives files from the External Uploader
Provide your Customer Success Manager with a list of approved recipients. Once this is set up only those pre-selected users will receive files shared by the External Uploader.
Limit who can use the External Uploader
Create a Whitelist of both internal and external users to limit who has access to the External Uploader. During the upload process, the system will check whether the email address is allowed to upload material via this tool or will block the upload if necessary.
- Go to the Settings>Waiting Room.
- Click on Manage access whitelist and a pop-up window will open.
- In the email address field enter the email address you want to whitelist and click on Add to whitelist. Repeat this step if you want to whitelist other email addresses.
- Click on to close the screen.
Note
If you also make use of a pre-selected list with recipients you need to whitelist these email addresses as well. It is not possible to whitelist a root domain (example.com). Only individual email addresses can be whitelisted.
I want to remove a user from the whitelist
- Go to the Settings >Waiting Room.
- Click on Manage access whitelist and a pop-up window will open.
- Click on in front of the email address you want to remove.
- Click on to close the screen.
