Understanding Supported File Types For Conversion And Derivative Creation

Summary

Bynder provides the flexibility to convert various file types into different formats for creating derivatives, as well as for previewing and downloading. These supported file types and conversion pipelines apply to both the Asset Bank and Asset Workflow.

Asset Workflow Compatibility

Asset Workflow utilizes the same preview and conversion engine as the Asset Bank.

  • Consistency: All supported images, videos, audio files, documents, and 3D files can be uploaded and managed within Workflow jobs.

  • Performance: To maintain high performance, the Asset Workflow job view uses preview thumbnails rather than original files. This ensures that job navigation remains fast, regardless of asset size.

  • Processing: For very large files, preview and thumbnail generation occurs in the background and may take a few moments to complete.
